Battle For Survival

The world was a terrifying place. Civilization was now scarce and the few refugee camps were terribly unprepared in case of a large scale zombie attack. However, not all survivors were lucky enough to be in a refugee camp. Some were unlucky enough to be far from civilization naturally and heard about the zombies later than the rest of the world. By the time they heard, the world was overrun and the camps were established. Most tried to hold out on their own but few managed. These are the remaining survivors story.

Derek had seen many better days and very few worse. He had spent the last week walking towards the the actual city of D.C. from his country farm. He really wished he had learned to drive before this had started. He had started to run low on rations and needed to make a pit stop and figured he might as well look for survivors. Maybe the city was better defended. He hadn't seen many zombies on the way here. He hoped his luck would hold out. He also knew he had to be careful because if he was wrong or his luck didn't hold out, the zombies would be overrunning the city and this would be entirely too dangerous, but necessary. He hoped he was right. He peaked over the hill, saw the city. The streets looked dead, and luckily not literally. But, looks could be deceiving. He sneaked into the city and stayed down alleyways. His luck was holding out so far at least.

Kal was sleeping in his apartment. Since he had the day off, he stayed up all night gaming with some friends. He was woken by a noise at the door. Feeling groggy from just waking up he walked over to the door to investigate. He looked through the peep hole in the door and seen nothing. Strange, the apartment complex doesn't allow pets, so it must of been someone playing pranks. Kal walked back to his room when he heard it again. Thinking to himself "Must be some of the kids trying to play a prank on me. They've done it..." all of a sudden there was a loud slam at the door. "What in the hell was that?" Kal hurriedly went back to his room and grabbed his .9mm handgun from the nightstand. Just in case someone was trying to break in. While he was back there, another slam into the door. "Alright someone is trying to break in." Kal raised the gun and slowly walked to the door and looked through the peep hole again and was thrown off by what he was seeing, a human being with blood oozing from their body, flesh ripped apart. "God this must be a dream. That's Sally, or well whats left of her. It must be a nightmare. What in the hell is going on?!?!?! This can't possibly be a zombie apocalypse, it could never be real" Again a loud slam into the door and this time it cracked, With the gun pointed at the door, he put his hand on the knob. He counted the time in between the slams, about 10 seconds, after the next one hit, he opened the door, and shot a round into Sally's body, seen her not fall over he shot another round into the head and the body dropped, as it was lunging towards kal. He quickly shut the door just in case more was comming. He then started to think, if this is real i must start packing and get out of the city, to many people, means a load of zombies. With that, Kal started to get dressed, and started packing everything he could. a few things of clothes, and his weapons, putting them into a weapon bag he uses when he goes to gun shows. He also starting packing food, and thinking of how he was gonna get out of the city.

Saito got everything packed and ready for his work day today, and then looked at the time before he left his apparentment and noticed it was just about mid-day. Saito was going to be late if he didn't hurry up. So he grabbed his keys to the apparentment and hurried out the door and locked it. He lived in a rather large building, but only on the second floor. So he took the stairs down. Saito hurried down the stairs and noticed nobody was in the lobby for some reason, but he didn't have time to be curious so he ran out the front doors and noticed there wasn't anybody outside either.. but then noticed one person come around the corner very slowly. He couldn't make out who it was, but could see that it was a woman and looked like she was injuried on her leg because it was bloody and she was limping; though, she didn't look as if she was in pain. All he could hear was some slight moaning coming from her.

This time, his curiosity got the better of him and slowly walked toward the woman asking if she was alright. Though since he couldn't see her face due to her hair covering her face, he didn't want to immediately approach her because she might be really pretty and he would get all flustered and wouldn't know what to do.

 "Hello miss, you look hurt are you alright? What happened to you?" he yelled, because they were kind of far away from each other.

The woman didn't say anything as they were both getting closer and closer to each other, but after he was about 26 feet away from her, he stopped and got a little nervous and curious on why she wasn't responding but just moaning..

 "Excuse me Miss.. are you alright? Would you like me to call an ambulance for you?" He asked nervously.

Again the woman said nothing, but was still slowly creeping closer.

 "Alright, if you don't answer me I'm not going to help you!" He proclaimed, while starting to slowly back away.

Saito looked around him for anybody else, so he could push her off to somebody else, but nobody else was around. He didn't have time to deal with this anymore. As he looked back at the lady, he saw that her hair had moved out of the way of her face, and saw that the lower right side and the left side of her face was completely ripped off! Shocked and frieghtened of seeing through his own eyes that zombies were in fact real, he screamed and he stumbled backwards and almost fell, but then ran back toward the building as fast as he could and when he got back into the lobby he saw 2 zombies creeping out from the other side of the counter where the clerk use to be. Then he ran toward the staircase to go back up to his appartment. Saito ran up to the second floor and then got out his keys and saw there was a zombie on the other side of the hallway and that his apparentment was half way down the hallway. He sprinted down the hallway, but then he dropped his keys. The zombie was getting closer, and that made him nervous and a little scared so he had trouble finding which key it was that opened his door.. but luckily he found it just in time to open it, get in, and close it. Saito took a deep breath of relief, but then realized there could be a zombie in his apparentment. So Saito took his knife out and searched around his apparentment. Saito didn't find any zombies, but he could still hear the zombie in the hallway banging on his door. 

Saito gathered everything he needed to survive this zombie appocalypse. He grabbed some extra clothes, some food from his cabinets and what he could use from the fridge that wouldn't spoil. He searched his house to find his guns and ammo, and he found them in the far back of his closet. He put on some confortable clothes, and grabbed his firstaid supplies. Then Saito decided to grab some kitchen knifes and some duct tape. He put everything into an old military bag he had gotten a while back. Then lastly he grabbed his katana, tied it around himself and was ready to go.
