Personality: Derek has a very happy personality and doesn't let the world get him down. However, he can be serious and even sad in certain situations. He is usually very outgoing and a fun person to be around.

History: The world was a good place once. Full of life and wonder. But Derek always knew it wouldn't last. People took too much for granted and they were doomed to failure. How, was the only question. Black out of the sun? Biological warfare? Who knew? Ever since George Romero's movie Night of the Living Dead, however, every one was thinking Zombies? Whether virus, bacterial, or mutation, the world wanted Zombies? They had seen too many movies, and played too many games. They got their wish though, and they never regretted it as much.

The world had hope and promise once. Until the first Zombie appeared. Out of nowhere, it attacked. It critically injured eight people before being put down, one shot to the head. The eight were transported to a hospital and placed in to intensive care. Four of the eight died instantly and the other four not much later. The times of death were called and the doctors left the room. As the last one was on their way out, the first shook. She called the rest back in only for them all to be attacked. Twelve doctors were slaughtered before people even begin to realize there was a problem. With the approximate twenty undead moving at the moment, humanity stood a chance.

However, everyone's fantasies about zombies were coming true and no one believed it because of all the jokes. The zombies numbed in the hundreds by the first hour, thousands by the first week, hundreds of thousands by the first month. Finally the world realized the problem, their "fantasy" wasn't fun. The world was in trouble and no one had the answer as to why or how.

By the end of the first year zombies outnumbered people 10,000 to 1 and those few humans were unprepared. Soldiers died fighting the zombies, citizens slaughtered. Only small time farmers and a few citizens left and maybe a few with military training. The world was doomed.

Derek didn't know know how it would end but he was prepared. He began training with his dad and uncle on using guns, bows, and knives and the merits of each. He had natural talent in each, but was far from being a master. During the original outbreak, twenty or so zombies attacked the farm he lived on and his father fought with his uncle against most of them. Outnumbered ten to one it seemed hopeless. They finished it, but were surprised attack by a couple of zombies.

Derek watched as his father and uncle, his only family, were torn apart in front of him. He fell to his knees, tears streaming down his face. The zombies stumbled towards him, and Derek decided he didn't want to die. He stood his ground and managed to kill his family's attackers. He dropped, crying his eyes out until he heard a noise. He jerked upright, expecting to see a zombie, but saw his uncle and dad getting back up.

They were alright, things were going to be fine. They could prepare themselves and be ready next time and do it again without the injuries. He went to hug them and saw chunks of their face missing, and their eyes empty of emotion. He knew then, they were dead. Or more specifically, they were undead. Blinking back tears, he pointed his gun and pulled the trigger twice, one for each. He gathered up a few supplies and headed on out to either find civilization or to find a fortress of safety. He would accept all, and deny none. If no one came then he would do his best to prepare for when they do. And so he set off on his adventure, ready for nothing, yet everything.

Oh so your guy carries around with him a katana/bow+arrows/apistol/and 300 rounds? Well shit! You must get a lot of attention walking around with that on you! Lol, jk
