Setting:
The night air was dry in NightShade. The city was dark in the midnight hour. The only building lit was the old tavern, "The Blue Moon". Inside was the night life of the city. The bards and dock workers, farmers and footpads, the people finally off work and traveling citizens. The city in the day was similar to most cities of the country. Small, but efficient. People laughed and cried and lived their peaceful lives. But this city was the start of something. Something foretold only in the oldest Prophecies. Something that would begin in their small tavern. Something that might end with the destruction of the world. Something that would start with a small group of unlikely companions and small time adventurers.

Dresden sat alone at a corner table in The Blue Moon, the tavern of NightShade. He wore his usual armor under his deep midnight black cloack. He had his cowl pulled around his head and it cast his face in shadows. On two separate occasions this night people had wondered over and went to sit down before they noticed that the table was already occupied. He had a black cloth leaning against the side of his chair. Under the cloth, lay his blade, Amoracchius.

Why am I even here? I have no reason to be here. I don't know who even sent that letter or why? Dresden was somewhat of a skeptic. He doesn't believe in fate. He believed in free will and scoffed at Prophecies. A fortnight ago though, he had a dream of a young girl, presumably a goddess, telling him he needed to come to this tavern on this night. He had awoken in a sweat and ignored the dream. The following morning he had found a letter on his dresser. It was simple but powerful.

And inside it was a map with the quickest route from his house to the tavern. He hadn't even heard of this town but he quickly packed his stuff and bid his farewells to his friends. He had had sped to this location and arrived a week ago. He completely sketched the whole city and builiding and roadways. And also had a map of the surrounding area. He studied it baselessly and looked for places where he could be ambushed. He didn't see many places and he went to the tavern and placed himself in the corner. From here, he could view the other citizens and those who entered. He sat quietly and tried to blend in. He met eyes with the Bartender and nodded. The bartender walked over and brought him a drink. He slid over a copper piece and rested his head in a position that looked like he was sleeping.

Alone, Arashi traveled through many harsh places to increase his stamina and strength. Wearing only a Kimono and sandals and carrying the magnificent katana he calls, Hinotama. He also carries around many other essentials and his precious necklace his dieing mother gave to him. He keeps it around his neck and will never take it off. He now is searching endlessly to find the man who sent that assassin to kill his mom. And will not stop until he does. He has searched high and low for information about this man and he hasn't had any luck.

One Afternoon, as Arashi is casually walking down the road he finds a sign saying to go to either of these places: NightShade or Aedith. Somehow Arashi had a gut feeling if he goes to NightShade something terrible or wonderful is going to happen. And as soon as he thought that Arashi heard a whisper coming from the direction of the village NightShade. The whisper said This Way.....This Way....
So knowing that something will happen, it being good or bad, Arashi followed the road to NightShade hoping it would bring him a step closer to finding the person he's looking for.

On the way down the road Arashi kept hearing noises coming from the trees. So he also kept his guard up incase there was an ambush or something. He finally can see the village of NightShade and suddenly Arashi's katana starts glowing dark red. He hears foot steps coming from behind him and he pulls his Katana out and puts it right next to the man's neck. He can't see his face because of the cloak the guys wearing though. He starts laughing in a miniacle way and then says You will soon die just like your mother...
He vanishes right before his eyes and his sword stops glowing. In a angry manner, Arashi starts heading toward the village knowing that he's getting closer to being able to get his revenge.

Arashi finally arrived at NightShade and the first place he sees is The Blue Moon tavern. So he walks up to the door. Wondering if his sword will glow from any enemys inside. It didn't start glowing so Arashi figured it was ok for him to go in and get a drink. He walks through the door and for some reason he had a sudden urge to look in the direction of a man in the corner with his hood down, looking like he's asleep. Arashi then ordered a beer and sat at a table in the middle of the tavern.

It was early after sun up when Zeek started his daily chores and training, a ranger never stops training his skills, he said to himself. After 3 hours of training Zeek decides to stop practicing and make a small meal and feed his beloved ranger horse Dark Shadow, well Shadow for short. As the small bay mare was eating Zeek decided to brush the horse down when he felt rather then heard the low rumble of the horse giving his master a warning that someone was approaching. Zeek told the horse that he was aware of the warning and the horse calmed but stayed alert. When Zeek heard the movement close to his door he moved quietly behind the door with his saxe knife in hand waiting. After peering through a small window Zeek noticed it was just a message carrier. Zeek replaced the Saxe knife back into its sheath and moved quietly behind the messenger and spooked the heck out of him.

The messenger said "What is it with Rangers spooking us messengers all the damn time, i'm getting sick of this."

Zeek feeling bad for the man apologized

Zeek said to the messenger "So what message do you have for me?"
The messenger handed him a letter that was addressed to Zeek
"Do you know who sent this?"
"No i don't sorry Zeek.
Then the messenger left. Zeek walked into the house to read the letter. After opening the letter it was a bit odd to Zeek because the letter never said who it was from and it was addressing him only and the words said

Come to the town of NightShade. Go to The Blue Moon

The letter was odd enough but it gave him simple instructions and Zeek felt a sense of adventure ahead of him.

Around noon Zeek saddled his horse Dark Shadow and rode off towards the town of NightShade. He has is normal ranger weapons, his long bow that was given to him by his mentor, his throwing knives and saxe knife. He wore his green cloak that allows him to blend with the surrounding area, and wore his neckless that showed him as a ranger.

Its quite funny people think us rangers dab in the black arts when its only an eye trick Zeek said to himself when he seen the looks people were giving him.

Zeek road for a day and a half and finally arrived at NightShade and walked his horse to the stable where he brushed down his horse and fed it. After seeing his horse would be fine for a while he walked into "The Blue Moon." Finally after his eyes adjusted he could make out a man in a cloak sitting in the back of the room with his head leaning on the wall as if he was sleeping and a unusual looking character sitting on one of the stools of the tavern.

Zeek felt the sense of people watching him and see that most of the commoners were so he decided to order some coffee from the bartender and some nice warm food and sat at a table away from the mysterious sleeping man.

As Zeek sat down his food and drink was delivered he drank the coffee happily and settled his nerves and pulled the scowl of his cloak over his head to conceal himself and rested his long bow against the wall. and hid an arrow under the table so no one could see it concealed by his cloak.

Always keep your weapons close and ready he told himself.
it was something his mentor drilled into him day after day.

It's early in the morning as we introduce this story. A raggy looking neko, named Blade, is sleeping on a tree stump. Surrounded by nothing but wilderness, he travels from place to place trying to find somewhere to fit in. But his ignorance always seems to get him self into mischief. Not only that, but also he has a very dark and disturbing past.

Blade's ears twitch, and he rolls over Blade... Blade... 5 more minutes mom... WAKE UP!!!! He falls off the stump. He stands up startled but ready to fight. His eyes glow blue and his headband glows green. Who are you and what do you want? Why do you people think that all of us messengers are threatening? Well i was just sleeping, and you kind of scared the crap out of me! Anyways i have a message for you. Who is it from? Blade says confused. That i do not know... Well could you at least tell me where... And he disappeared.

The paper fell to the ground. Blade picks it up and begins to read it. This note shall lead you to your destiny, head to the... And he stopped reading the note. No piece of paper will tell me where to go! He dashes off and soon finds a fork in the road. Hmm.. NightShade or a-e-dith... adith. Uhh how do you pronounce that? Aedith.. Oh uh.. yeah thanks.. Aedith. Well im going to go to NightShade because at least i can pronounce that name correctly. As he runs to nightshade he spots a tavern called The Blue Moon. He heads in and orders a drink and also some food and sits down alone at a table and is playing tricks on people while he is waiting for something to happen.

The bar seemed unusually busy tonight. He had memorized location, routine, name and face.... but these newcomers he had never seen before. They came in at different times and didn't even seem to know eachother. There was the spry young man with the obsessive coffee drinking. The brooding man with the sword. And some spry trickster. This night could get interesting. Sure.... pretending to sleep left a lot of room for surprise but he wanted to be completely aware for this.

He opened his eyes and rubbed them with a hand like someone who just slept. He reaches down and finishes his drink. He stands and stretches, more to his benefit than he thought it would have been, and takes his mug over to the bar to stretch his legs. He gets a refill and goes back to his table to listen to the ruckus of the bar and the singer.

Arashi is waiting alone at a table in the middle of the tavern and then he starts to get impatient. Arashi gets more angry for every passing moment. His anger grew and grew until he couldn't control it any longer. He shot up out of his chair grabbed it and crashed it down through his table! "Alright, which one of you was it?! Who hired that assassin to kill my mother?!" yells Arashi. He slowly looked around the room waiting for someone to stand up and face him.

Seeing this brute of a man become extremely angry all of a sudden Zeek picks up his bow quietly and slowly so he can't be seen from the back ground a picks up the arrow he had under the table. He knocked the arrow and drawled the bow back and ready to fire. Zeek stands up and said "Sir calm down or i will put an arrow through you. Do u honestly think someone here in this small place could do something like that or even know you? Please calm down and relax or else." the tone was a calm and relaxed tone that no one expected to hear. The tone in Zeek's voice showed authority but yet calm.

Blade notices the two about to brawl "Heh this aught to be interesting," sits back watching. "I call facing winner," he says ignorantly.

Dresden watched the sudden turn of events carefully. He didn't want this to become a full blood bath so he started forming a spell to harden the air in the whole bar so that nothing could move but didn't release it yet. It would take a lot of energy even though he was a master at the spell. He decided to let it play out a bit. He heard a man call out that he got the winner but he could tell these were experienced fighters. This could end badly.

Looking in the direction of the man with he bow pointed at him he sees Hozukimaru, his katana, start glowing red. Arashi yells, "Who are you to tell me what to do huh!!" He pulls out his katana as quick as lightning and says, "Lets see what you got Archer." Arashi lunges at the man full speed keeping his guard up incase he were to fire his arrow.

Seeing the man lunge Zeek decides to release the tension on the string so he does not fire the arrow and instead jump to the right to get out of the charging man. As Zeek does jump to the right he managed to replace the arrow and draws his saxe knife encase hes needs to defend himself.

Blade walks out of the bar calmly and speaks to the creature. "Your late, I've been waiting for something or someone to challenge." It let out another blood curling screech. "We heard you the first time!" "I am scared to death right now, its not a spider but it sure looks like one." His facial expression shows no fear though he was trying to think of a way to destroy it, but how?

Being knocked down after running full speed at the man with the bow made Arashi furious. "Ok.. that's the last straw! It's time to kick some ass!" He was going to get revenge for whatever had done that to him. He forgets all about what the archer said to him and runs outside to see what that loud screech was coming from. He looks left and right but didn't see anything. Then the creature screeches once again, reveling it's location. It was somewhere in the direction behind the Blue Moon tavern. Knowing what direction to go now he jumped to the roof of the tavern and jumped from building top to building top (like a ninja ) to reach the location of the foul beast. He reaches the destination and he is about 10 yards away from the creature, still on top of the roof. He quietly pulls out his blade that is glowing a darker shade of red and waits for the perfect time to attack this monster.

Dresden followed everyone else out of the room calmly. He saw the beast and recognized it from his many readings. Dresden eyes grew and he became dumbstruck.

Spider Eaters are supposed to be extinct. They died out when the Elder Gods died.

Dresden tried remembering about them but they were so old and extinct that there were no writings telling how to kill them. Dresden sat there and decided that he would only help if absolutely necessary. Otherwise, he wanted to study this creature and the warriors he had seen in the tavern.

After Zeek awaking from his daze he gets up to his feet, grabs his bow and runs out to see what was going on. Zeek looked extreamly suprised to se a huge insect there flying and its eight eyes.

Looking at the thing made him a bit sick of the sight of it. After coming to his sences Zeek takes out two arrows and knocks one and draws, he takes quick aim and fires off the first to in his hand and draws two more and releases, the arrows have gone off one after another in quck speed, one arrow hits the creature in the front left claw one misses, one hit an eye and the other hits the wing makeing a quite small hole as it passes through it. The creature cries out in a savage rage and anger. Then seeing the creature turn to where the arrows come from Zeek pulls his cloak over him and runs into the dark allyway to hide from the creature.

He realizes that he can't stay afraid of it like this forever, so he attacks "Haven't used an energy spell in a while hope it works!" As Blade tried to focus on draining the creature energy his whole body glows blue. Then the energy from the Spider Eater starts flowing into him leaving the Spider Eater tired and open for an attack.

The monster screeched as an arrow hit its wing, eye, and arm. These pestilent humans think they are a match for a Spider Eater. A creature of legend that scared even the heartiest adventurers of the age. They think just because some of their weapons are strong and that they know how to use them they are good enough to defeat me. The monster began to move when one of the humans... no this one was only half human... started to glow blue. What was he doing... and then suddenly the monster began to glow blue. What was going on? The monster began to feel weak and realized its life force was being pulled away. It screeched and flew at the man in an angry rage. It stuck out its stinger and aimed for the man. All I have to do is sting him and fly and they will never defeat me.

Dresden watched the monster and saw that its only weapons were its stinger... which was now getting ready to stab the small cat-like man and the mandibles. The creature wasn't even that fierce. He studied the creature and realized that it was a male and would be smaller than the female of the species. The creature... the Spider Eater, more accurately... was hardly worth his time. It was just an overgrown insect. He figured the people around him could take care of it but just in case he prepared a spell for a shield and one for hardened air. Both would take a lot of power but were necessities. Someone had to save Cat-man and worse case scenario needed to literally squash the bug.

Still on top the roof, Arashi notices that Zeek shoots the Spider Eater with a few arrows and that Blade took some energy from it so it seems more vulnerable. But the Spider Eater got angered and started charging toward Blade to sting him. It doesn't seem like he needs my help but just to be safe Arashi leaps off from on top of the building and lands in front of Blade ready to fight off the large creature. As I stand there waiting for the moment for the creature to attack I start channeling my Ki into my right arm. Then I hear Blade doing something with that captured energy he acquired.

"i Don't think so" Blade creates a barrier in front of him and Arashi out of the some energy he adsorbed "ill use your own energy against you" the creature hits the barrier. The creature seemed tired but angered. "aww whats wrong you missed" he says taunting the creature "this thing seems more of an insect then an arachnid" "your not going anywhere any time soon" Blade jumps to cut one of the insects wings off

Seeing blade jump to cut the wing off, Zeek decides to go for the eyes again, he grabs 2 arrows in his hand and notches one on the string, he draws back so the string is at the corner of the mouth, relaxes, clears his mind, aims, does quick calculations and fires. He manages to get another 4 arrows off in less then 3 seconds.
